Is love a feeling or an ability?



This evening… as I was watching the movie “Dan in real life... There was this conversation when the guy tells to Dan… that Love is ability not a feeling. And there was the end of the topic.
Then I was thinking... (And this is just my opinion)
....I think if you have the ability to feel love... then you have the ability to love. It is totally up to the individual if they choose to use that ability or not. But if you don’t choose it… you will not be able to display or tell anyone about your love. So love raises your ability to put your loved ones ahead of you always...And surely it starts with the ability to Love GOD, your parents, children, husbands/ wives….and so on..
Then I started thinking, love is a feeling and all feelings that a human being has is part of his/her abilities. I would only say its the most beautiful experience a human being can ever have in this life time... to experience love.. it need not always be a happiness enduring one but the most important thing is to experience the feel of love ... in our life.. And the bench mark surely starts from experiencing the feeling of God’s love.
Well. I would have to agree in that love is both a feeling and an ability. When I say it is an ability, I do not mean that some people do and some people do not have that ability. It is a universal ability we are all born with and "symptoms" of which are feelings.
The problem in displaying and experiencing love is due to the conditioning we receive from those around us and the situations as we age into our lives, growing from infant to child and child to teen, teen to adult and adult to elderly.
Love is much like the wind in that it is an "invisible," "metaphysical" element we see the effects of though we do not see the actual cause. It can be channelled through many ways in which it travels and is affected by others as it encounters. The question is do you have the ability to feel that love and raise your ability to Love.
