Some people think that going green is more expensive, but in fact there’s ways of going GREEN and save money. I have received a newsletter from the David Suzuki Foundation entitled “What’s HOT, What’s NOT in 2009” and it had the items shown bellow.
- HOT
Caring consumerism
Renew and repair
Barter, trade, donate
Do-it-yourself
Lower energy bills
Green gifting
Eating in, local, and low on the food chain
Free exercise
Vacationing close to home, going outsideGreen investing
- NOT (HOT)
"He who has the most toys wins"
Accumulate and dispose
Individual use, currency-based economy
Outsourcing
Energy waste
More stuff we don’t want or need
Eating out, exotic, and meaty
Gym and studio memberships
Jet-setting, nature deficit disorder
Banking as usual
Searching the internet I have also found a book from David Bach, “Go Green, Live Rich”. For more information and opinions on the book, CLICK HERE.
It actually makes a lot of sense to me (not having a rich life in the materialistic way of the word, but adopting small actions that make a difference and enrich all of us). Because we’re not only helping the planet a little bit but we’re also improving our lives.
